A Benefit For Lisa Amani - Yoga Instructor, Friend & Breast Cancer Survivor.

Lisapalooza was an all day event with bands, awesome prizes, food & fun! Sunday, May 2, 2010 2 pm - 10 pm At The Blind TigerBand Line Up: The Radials 2pm - 2:45pm Aiede with Chronis 3pm - 3:45pm Marcus & Keith 4pm - 4:45pm Allman Extract 5pm - 6pm Braco 6:15pm - 7:15pm The CC3 7:30pm - 8:30pm The Brand New Life 8:45pm - 10pm There was a suggested donation of $10 at the door kids getting in free! Raffle tickets were available for $5. (You could purchase 5 tickets for $20). People played to win posh prizes & they donated towards our cause. Raffle prizes included gift certificates from Divas Boutique & Bridal, Kelly's Golf, Gordon's Menswear, Songbirds Consignment, Asiano Bistro, Supercuts, Jack Cecil (gift store) and spa gift certificates from Sorella Day Spa. We had three gifts certificates totaling a value of $150 for Studio Z Hair Design in the raffle! We had a gift basket with organic shampoo and hair care from Sherry at Avanti salon valued at $46 in the mix in our Lisapalooza raffle and even a fruit basket from Earthfare. Other raffle prizes included handmade jewelry by Mustard Seed, jewelry by Chris Roulhac, tie dye merch from Jillian at Dye Nation, a tie dye shirt from Julie at H2O Tie Dyes, 4 different 1/2 hour personal training sessions with Eric Estep of Finally Fit or 1 free month (twice weekly sessions) of intensive boot camp training! Also included in the prizes, we had a yummy pair of sunglasses from Miller Vision, The Mantras recently released, Dharland music CD, as well as (one free veterinary physical) courtesy of Hugh Otterburn at Animal Medical Centre of Greensboro, Caryl's Pool & Christmas Shop gifted a bottle of wine towards the raffle & there were many more surprises! People dropped in and played to win!!!! Crystal Floyd was in charge of rock'n this raffle. In the front the kids were able to enjoy a Bounce House / Moonwalk! Also, there were bubbles, pin wheels & side walk chalk for the kids - thanks to Tracie Davidson! Folks joined us out back for some tasty grilled food alfresco style with Bucky Routh & David Neal manning the grills! Henna artist, Mike Lambert created henna tattoos & body art from 4 pm - 7 pm or so! Jacob Felder and Kara Chambers performed a Yoga Adagio balancing act during the event while Braco was playing. We were lucky enough to have Melissa & Justin from Magnolia Day Spa on location during the event to give hand, arm, neck & back massages. Their proceeds went to help Lisa Amani. It was a great benefit & it really helped our friend Lisa Amani out! Lisa is the owner of Shankari Yoga, Inc. & she is an awesome local yoga instructor at several locations in Greensboro, NC. She has been on her path of healing from breast cancer . Thank you for being a part of the healing process & for coming out & getting your groove on too! |
